Our ISA Certifications: Certified Arborist and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified
Certification is how you tell a tree service that knows trees from one that only knows how to cut them. Here is what ours mean.
ISA Certified Arborist
The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certifies arborists around the world. The ISA Certified Arborist designation sets you apart as someone with the commitment, dedication and knowledge to succeed. The program is accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) for meeting or exceeding ISO 17024 standards for certification bodies.
For you, it means the person looking at your tree understands how trees grow, what stresses them, how to prune without causing harm and when a tree is truly a hazard.
ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ)
The ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification is a voluntary program that trains and assesses arborists in a specialized field: judging how likely a tree is to fail and what happens if it does. To earn it, candidates must complete a training course and pass both a comprehensive written assessment and a performance-based assessment. To keep it, they must retrain and retest every five years.
Qualified professionals:
- are proficient with the fundamentals of limited-visual and basic tree risk assessment, as defined in ISA’s Best Management Practices: Tree Risk Assessment;
- understand the principles of advanced diagnostic techniques for assessing tree risk;
- know how to gather and synthesize the information needed to assess tree risk; and
- can make reasoned judgments and recommendations for mitigating identified risk.
This is the qualification behind our arborist reports and tree risk assessments. In Salem, see arborist in Salem.
Licensed, bonded and insured
Oregon Woodsmen Tree Service is licensed with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board, CCB #194150, and is bonded and insured. Tree work is dangerous. If an unlicensed, uninsured crew damages your home or someone gets hurt on your property, the bill can land on you. Ask any tree service for their CCB number and look it up.
