After the storm
Winter wind and ice bring trees down across the Willamette Valley every year. A storm can leave limbs on the roof, a tree across the driveway and brush everywhere. Many homeowners are tempted to clean up their own yard after a storm. It can be tedious, extremely time consuming and even dangerous. Wood under tension, hanging limbs and anything near a power line are how people get hurt.
What we handle:
- Removal of downed trees and large limbs
- Clearing hazardous branches from roofs, driveways and walkways
- Cutting and hauling debris
- Assessing and trimming damaged trees so they are safe
- Preventative tree care to reduce the risk in the next storm

If a tree is on your house or a line
Stay out from under it. If a tree or limb is touching a power line, stay well back and call your power company first. Then call us at (503) 551-5141. Take photos for your insurance company if you can do it from a safe spot.
Our crew has the experience and equipment to take a tree off a structure without making the damage worse. If your insurer needs a written description of what happened to the tree, ask us about an arborist report.

What should you do in the first hour after a tree comes down?
- Keep everyone away from the tree and anything it is leaning on.
- If wires are involved, assume they are live. Call the power company.
- If the tree is on the house, stay out of the rooms under it.
- Take photos from a safe distance for your insurance company.
- Call us at (503) 551-5141 and tell us what it hit and whether the street or driveway is blocked.
When are you available for emergencies?
The office is open Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm. For a tree emergency, call (503) 551-5141. During a big storm we sort calls by danger: trees on houses and blocked access first, yard clean-up after.

What does storm clean-up cost?
It depends on what came down and what it landed on. A tree lying in the yard is ordinary removal work. A tree on a roof takes rigging and more time, and is often covered by homeowners insurance when it damages a covered structure. We give you a written estimate you can send to your insurer.
“Came out as we had an emergency. Took care of quality and well done”
Can storm damage be prevented?
Some of it. Most limbs that fail in a storm were already dead, cracked or badly overextended. Having the big trees near your house looked at every few years, removing dead wood and reducing long heavy limbs takes care of the failures that were going to happen. A tree risk assessment puts that in writing if you want it.
