Tree work in Dallas

Dallas is the Polk County seat and one of the closest towns to our yard in Rickreall. The work here is mostly trimming and pruning: fruit trees, maples and the firs that line so many lots, plus removals when a tree has gotten too big or too dead to keep.

Properties along Rickreall Creek and on the edges of town have the big native trees, Douglas fir, bigleaf maple and Oregon white oak. Those are the ones that drop limbs in a winter wind. If you have dead wood hanging over the house or the driveway, it is cheaper to take it out in October than to clean it up in January.

Because we are so close, small jobs in Dallas are easy for us to fit in. One stump, one limb, a pile of brush. Call the office and ask.

What kind of trees do we work on in Dallas?

In town it is mostly maples, fruit trees, birch and the firs along back lot lines. On the edges, toward the Coast Range foothills, it is native fir, bigleaf maple and oak, plus a lot of brush and blackberry that needs cutting back before fire season.

Dallas sits closer to the Coast Range than Salem and gets more rain and more wind. Saturated ground and a strong south wind is what tips firs over. A tree with a new lean or a mound of lifted soil at its base should be looked at right away.
